Director of Strategy & External Relations
Paris Area, France
I work to bridge the divide between old and new media by promoting "dot-connecting" through a broad spectrum of platforms and activities.
These include:
- Blogging (AFP-MediaWatch, Owni.fr).
- Institutional leadership - as Director of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), le Groupement des éditeurs de services en ligne (GESTE) and le Groupement français des industries de l'Information (GFII). I represent AFP at Minds International (R/D network of 17 news agencies) and at SPQN (Syndicat National de la Presse Quotidienne).
- Active participant in international fora for news media - Member of the Online News Association International Committee and judge for the annual ONA Awards, as well as for the annual SIIA CODiE Awards.
- Publishing - in 2009 I authored "La Revolution numérique - Glossaire" http://bit.ly/8fnB4t. I also publish a twice-yearly flagship guide to global media trends called MediaWatch.
- Conference curation - in 2009 I took part in the organization and curation of the Forum d'Avignon (Economie / Culture / Médias) http://www.forum-avignon.org/
- Education/Training - I teach new media practices at IPJ (Institut Pratique du Journalisme) and give seminars at Celsa and SciencesPo.
- Broadcasting - I have a weekly chronicle on "Planète Médias" on BFM Radio, and am a regular contributor to France Culture's "Place de la Toile".
- Professional speaking engagements throughout Europe.
I am currently working on the 2010 launch of an exciting new media innovation centre called Medias21.
Dot-connector, strategist, new media advocate, author, speaker, educator and broadcaster. One foot in the Old World, one in the New, with my gaze fixed on the Emergent World.

My number one brief is AFP's worldwide strategy for the Web 2.0 and new media era; I am passionate about converting the current crisis in the print and broadcast media into opportunity for my company; I also prospect for partnerships and represent AFP at numerous global media forums and networks such as the pan-European MINDS International and I'm very interested in training and lifelong learning for journalists at every stage of their career.
I am a frequent speaker on topics such as web 2.0, new media and adaptive strategies for old media.
