The core of my expertise is based on my ability to find the best sales path for a business to enter a foreign market. I help businesses when they are entering new foreign markets, right at the intersection where their marketing meets their first sales strategies, and they need to adjust their aim to successfully pass through the initial phase of foreign market entry.
I learned this through 25 years field experience in both international sales and marketing, and strengthened with a strong cross-cultural profile.
I coordinate between marketing and sales teams on international borders, providing cross-cultural business interpretations and reviewing options to find the best sales strategies to get international clients. I actually did this twice for two different large American companies that were expanding their sales in Europe for the first time. In both of these cases accounts were signed for a total of over $10M within the first year. And I have also done the same thing for companies of other sizes, including start-ups.
You see, no matter how much prior preparation you have, when you enter a new foreign market your offer and your positioning are often not the best fit for a different culture. Even with the best market analysis, you still need to learn about your new markets first hand. You need to adjust your sales and marketing strategies for each different cultural market before international success. This takes a little time. It also takes flexibility... and cross-cultural and international skills.
After a rich and diversified experience, I am comfortable operating between sales and marketing, in unknown markets where unexpected cultural hurdles pop up and you need to pay attention to dozens of moving objects at the same time and still maintain a business strategy.
