After more than 20 years of maths teaching (1975-1997), I had to find out a way to apply dormant background on knowledge representation and organisation. The rise of new technologies gave me the chance to jump off the "Education Nationale" big boat.
At the end of 2000 I joined Mondeca team, which gave me the opportunity to play in the challenging areas of enterprise knowledge integration, ontology-driven software, semantic web languages and tools.
My greatest professional pleasure is to have people from various backgrounds sit together and figure out interoperable ways to describe their business, in order to federate people, knowlegde, data and systems in a consistent way.
Beyond professional activities, interested in too many things for a single life, among which astronomy and science at large since half a century, aikido since about 20 years, gardening, nature, musics and languages (always willing to learn Chinese) ... and above all, the ways towards a sustainable future for this planet.
Connection policy : My number of connections is close to Dunbar's number (roughly 150), considered as the basis for optimal network metrics. I will therefore from now on apply a "zero growth" policy, and decline any invitation from, and if necessary remove, without previous notice, connections with "link connectors" (500+, LIONs, TopLinked, etc.), or redundant connections with people with a lot of shared connections. On the other hand, I will consider invitations from people with less than 150 connections.
